When is the garden closed?
Mondays (if Monday is a holiday, the following weekday) and during New Year holidays.
How much is the admission fee?
It is 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for elementary and middle school-aged children. For groups of 30 or more, the admission fee is 160 yen for adults and 80 yen for children. Furthermore, admission is free for residents of Sakai City aged 65 and older. For more information, please see the "Admission Fees" section on the usage information page.
How long does it take to walk around the garden?
It takes roughly 40 minutes to walk around the garden.
Is re-entry allowed?
Yes, same-day re-entry is allowed with a ticket.
How do I get to the Japanese Garden?
By Train:
Approx. 10-minute walk from Mozu Station on the JR Hanwa Line

5-minute walk from the Daisen Koen Nishi (Daisen Park West) bus stop, which can be reached from Sakaihigashi Station on the Nankai Koya Line (Sakaihigashi Eki-mae platform 2, #140 bus for Amidaike)

By Car:
Approximately 10 minutes from Sakai on the Hanshin Expressway Sakai Line (#1 Paid Parking Lot, 127 spaces)

Is smoking allowed?
To prevent second-hand smoke in the park and provide an environment of high-quality services as a fee-charging garden, smoking is prohibited in all areas. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

While prior reservation is required to participate in most events, some events have reservation-free participation. Please see the event page for more details.

Questions about facility usage

May I bring food and drinks into the garden?
Please refrain from bringing outside food and drinks into the garden. There is a tea shop inside of the Rest House, so please eat and drink there.You can enjoy drinks such as matcha, matcha lattes, and hojicha lattes (Japanese traditional sweets included) for 850 yen, alongside a view of the garden.For more information about the tea house, please see the tea house section in the facility information page.
Are there lockers?
There are no lockers.
Are pets allowed?
Pets are not allowed, unless they are service animals.
Are there wheelchairs for renting?
There are four wheelchairs available to rent. Please visit reception if you would like to use them.If they are all in use, we may not be able to lend them out. Thank you for your understanding.
Is there a parking lot?
The closest parking lot is the Daisen Park Parking Lot #1. It is a 5-minute walk from the garden entrance.
What kind of plants can I see?
Please check the garden's four seasons page. We also post about fall foliage or when flowers are blooming on Instagram and X.
Can I use credit cards, e-currency or codes to pay in the park?
The ticket machine accepts credit cards, e-currency and codes for payment.Souvenirs and koi food etc. can only be purchased by cash.
Are there nursing rooms or bathrooms with diaper-changing stations?
There are diaper-changing stations in the bathrooms.There are no nursing rooms, so please consult staff if needed.
What is prohibited in the garden?
We ask visitors to refrain from actions that would cause trouble for others.
